Football Leadership & Strategy
Helping clubs, associations and academies build sustainable development environments.
Department design, development philosophy, pathways aligned from grassroots through to elite. As Head of Coach Education at the Football Association of Singapore I rebuilt the national framework: a full-time coach-education department, revised AFC A, B and C licences, a shift from post-course testing to on-course observation and support, standardised session resources, and new coach-developer and community programmes delivered with the AFC and FIFA.

Coach Development
Developing coaches who can create better learning and performance environments.
I design and deliver coach-development programmes, UEFA A, B and C for the FA and PFA, built on observation, honest feedback and reflective practice that change what happens on the grass, not just on paper. I help coaches shape their own identity and build learner-centred environments, and I mentor professionals into their coaching careers.

Player Development
Supporting players and organisations through key transition points — the step up, the transition, the plateau.
I build individual development plans and pathway support that reach beyond the technical and tactical. I made that jump as a player myself, and led the development of players at Manchester United who went on to reach the first team.

Few in football have lived the academy journey from both sides, I have supported my own son from age seven through to a professional career. The relationship between parent, player and club, the emotional weight of the pathway, and the transition points that make or break young careers. How I see it

I've worked across all of it — as an academy player at Manchester United, a sixteen-year professional, an academy coach, a coach educator, and the national lead for coach development in Singapore. That breadth means I can read a problem at the level of the player, the coach or the organisation — and, more importantly, see how the three connect. How I work matters as much as what I've done: I start by listening — a structured first hundred days of observation, grounded in honest analysis — before aligning short and medium-term plans to a long-term vision.
